Clara Coleman Obituary

Clara Frances Coleman, 83, of Crossett, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020, surrounded by her family.  She was born on January 13, 1937, in Oak Grove, Louisiana, and was a 1954 graduate of Hamburg High School.

For 25 years, she worked as a Service Representative for Alltel Telephone Company in Crossett until her retirement in 1992.  She also worked many years at the Hamburg Shirt Factory and West’s Department Store.

She married her soulmate in 1956, William Robert Coleman, and they had a love like none other. One was never seen without the other hand in hand. They were the perfect example of pure and everlasting love.

In the early 60s, Clara accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and joined Pine Forest Missionary Baptist Church, where she and William became active, devoted, lifelong members.

Clara loved being outdoors fishing, camping, or even deer hunting.  She also enjoyed cooking for her family and church family, sewing, quilting, and the occasional game of canasta.

She was quiet but sweet and loving to everyone she met.  She adored her Pillars family, her Pine Forest family, and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Verd Smith, and her five siblings, Ruth McKoin, Lucille Cooper, Mildred Smith, and Lloyd and Wyatt Smith.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, William Coleman, and one daughter, Shelia Courson, and husband, Steve, all of Crossett; two granddaughters, Jenny Lynn Strebeck also of Crossett, and Hannah Gallucci and husband, Anthony, of Maumelle, AR; along with four great-grandchildren, Anna Claire and Blakely Strebeck and Laiken and Christian Gallucci; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 10, at the Medders Funeral Home Chapel, 1564 Hwy 52 W, Crossett, with Bro. Roy Grantham, officiating followed by interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.
