Darlene R. Harper, 86, of Crossett, died Thursday, November 5, 2020, at her home. She was born on August 19, 1934, in Arlington, Washington, to her parents, David and Ruah Helms.
In her early years, she loved her summers at Camano Island beach house on Puget Sound. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting and most of all, spending time with her family. She attended First Baptist Church of Crossett.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Delwyn “Dutch” Harper; and one son, Scott Alan Harper.
She is survived by a daughter, Sheri Brooks (Jim) of Crossett; two sons, David Harper (Sue) of Gales Ferry, CT, and Brett Harper (Rebecca) of Haskell, OK; one sister, Barbara Lester of Norman, OK; 12 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; one niece and one nephew; and a host of other family and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 9, at Pinewood Memorial Park in Crossett with Bro. Jamie Staley officiating, under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Medders Funeral Home is complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines according to the Arkansas Governor’s mandates. All attendees are discouraged from all forms of physical contact and encouraged to practice social distancing.
Those that are considered high risk, running fever, or have been recently exposed to someone positive with COVID-19 are encouraged to stay home to protect themselves and others.
