Brother David L. Hampton, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday April 09, 2026, at Baptist Health Medical Center, Little Rock Ar. He was Born in Crossett Ar., March 04, 1980.
David accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age and remained a faithful member of Campground Methodist Episcopal Church.
He graduated from Crossett Senior High in 1999. He spent many years as a respected bus driver and worked in the maintenance department for the Crossett School district. He was known for his dedication to our youth, the community, and was loved by all. He grew up in the West Crossett community, and loved fishing, hunting, and working in his garden.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Mary Hendrix, Father Sylvester Tucker, mother-n-law Earlene Hollins, three sisters, Latrice Simpson, June Tucker and Latonya Tucker.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His wife Taffany Hampton of the home, two children, Zaria Hollins of Little Rock Ar., and Kybron Hollins of Fort Worth Tx. His mother Robbie Ann Hendrix, his birth mother, Brenda Hendrix, both of Crossett Ar. Siblings: Deon (Tammie) Lewis, Ray (Valtie) Lewis, Capresha Hampton, all of Crossett Ar., Rodney Hendrix of Texas, Nicole Hendrix, Quincy (Marcedez) Hendrix, of Crossett Ar., Angela (Anthony) Warren of Illinois, Ashley Hobbs, Quintisha (Jacarlo) Whaley, Marshata Tucker, all of Crossett Ar. God- children Raven Turner and Major Modisett, one God -grandson Jaxon Boykins. “He was also the loving grandfather to be of Juelz David Smith, expected to arrive June 2026.” Many in laws, aunts, uncles, church family, friends and loved ones.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 17th at Gates Chapel AME Church, 305 W. 3rd Ave., Crossett, AR. , followed by interment at Pugh Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Ben Outlaw, Michael Vorhease, Zachary Jackson, Gene Tucker, Brian Pruitt, Brad Gill, Mickey Buchler and Gvona Turner.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16th at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W., Crossett, AR 71635
