Deborah Marie Forrest, 75, of Parkdale, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at her home. She was born the only daughter of seven children on June 25, 1948, in Sulligent, Alabama, and spent most of her life in Ashley County.
Debbie was a member of Ross Van Ness Community Church in Eudora. She served as the song leader and former secretary, demonstrating her commitment to her church and her love for music and fellowship.
In her professional life, Debbie dedicated approximately twenty years to the Timberline Federal Credit Union before eventually retiring.
Debbie loved her community and had a passion for the simple joys in life, including fishing, sewing, tending to her flower garden, and spoiling her grandchildren. Her culinary talents were well known, as she was a fabulous cook who could whip up the most delicious meals for her family.
Her home was a warm and welcoming place. She kept a clean house and an open heart. She had a special gift for making everyone feel like family and her hugs were heartfelt, bringing a special comfort just when needed.
Debbie possessed strength, a feisty spirit, and an unyielding sense of humor, which made her a memorable presence in the lives of everyone who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Terrell, and Billie Dee Rushing Pendergrass; along with four brothers, Jerry, Jimmy, Johnny, and Jackie Terrell.
She leaves behind her husband of thirty-five years, Willard Keith Forrest of Parkdale; two daughters, Kim Barnett (Chris) of Crossett, and Whitney Forrest of Parkdale; and two sons, Derek Browning (Holli) of Beebe, AR, and Stephen Forrest (Lindsey) of Crossett; along with two brothers, Joey and Dennis Terrell both of Crossett; seven grandchildren, Blake Knight, Bryson Green, Justin Browning, Bailey Browning Tripp, Braden, Brock, and Chloe Forrest; and three great-grandchildren, Trinity Mondragon, Branna Ortiz, and Jamison Knight.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 14th, at Rolfe Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Carlton White officiating. Pallbearers are Stephen, Braden, and Brock Forrest, Derek and Justin Browning, and Bryson Green. Honorary pallbearers are Henry Carter and Ronna Forrest.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the local Gideon’s Camp.
