Deena White Obituary

Deena Michelle White, 48, of the Berlin Community near Hamburg, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at her home. She was born on January 5, 1977, in Monroe, Louisiana, to her parents, Richard Lee and Pamela Holland Adams.

A 1995 graduate of Hamburg High School, Deena was a proud member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she lifted her voice in praise to the Lord with every ounce of her heart. Her voice was as genuine as her faith, and when she sang, folks couldn’t help but feel the Spirit move.

Deena was a country girl through and through—never happier than when she had a fishing pole, a bow, or a gun in her hands. She loved the thrill of the hunt and the peace that came from casting a line at daybreak. She could tie jigs better than most folks could buy them, and if you ever saw her shoot, you knew she didn’t miss.

A big part of Deena’s heart was reserved for animals of every kind. She had a soft spot for every creature, whether it barked, squealed, clucked, or neighed. Over the years, she raised puppies, goats, pigs, chickens, horses, and even squirrels—each one spoiled and loved like family.

At home, Deena enjoyed the simple pleasures—painting, growing vegetables and flowers, and making things beautiful in her own quiet way. She was a homebody who loved her people fiercely, always willing to help, listen, or share a good laugh. Her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart, and she loved them like they were her own. Her giggle was contagious, her kindness effortless, and her spirit pure.

She was a true “Daddy’s girl,” tender-hearted yet strong, with a faith that ran deep. And she was head-over-heels in love with her husband, David—her best friend, her hunting and fishing partner, and the one who made her happiest. Together, they shared a bond built on laughter, adventure, and love that could weather any storm.

Her big heart had room for everyone—family, friends, and every critter that crossed her path. She was as real as they come, and her memory will live on in every story told, every song sung, and every heart she touched.

Above all, Deena loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was steady and sure, and she lived every day as a testament to His grace.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Eldred and Shirley Holland; and her paternal grandparents, Luther and Hattie Adams.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of twenty-eight years, David Eugene White; her parents, Richard Lee and Pamela Adams; one sister, Ashley Whitaker (Jason); her in-laws, Gail White, Gene White, and Amy Barfield (Jimbo); and “Granny”, Vivian Ware, all of Hamburg; along with her special nieces and nephews, Ana, Jaisley, Logan, Landon, Jimmy, Brent, and Hunter.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, October 15th, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Berlin Road in Hamburg, with Pastor Danny Merriweather, officiating, followed by interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are Logan and Landon Whitaker, Trapper and Brent Holland, David Harrell, Ricky Pollock, Michael Adams, and Hunter Adams.
