Dennis "Pete" Lochala Obituary

Dennis James “Pete” Lochala, 71, a lifelong resident of Crossett, passed away at his home on May 6, 2025. Born on July 23, 1954, in Crossett, he was affectionately known to many as “Pistol Pete,” a nickname earned for his famously unhurried pace and easygoing nature.

A skilled four-wheeler mechanic, Pete was known for his deep love of family and his passion for all things with wheels. He treasured time spent with his niece and nephew, Jesse and Leigh, often chauffeuring them to school and embarking on hours-long back road adventures at the slowest speed his truck could manage. He shared countless memories with his great-nephew Casen at the movies and zoo and delighted in giving Tootie rides on his four-wheeler whenever he could.

Pete had a lifelong passion for old cars, classic trucks, motorcycles, and NASCAR. Some of his fondest times were spent riding motorcycles through the Ozarks with his brother, Bill, and his close friend Monte McClain, where together they logged more than 80,000 miles. One of his favorite journeys was riding “The Tennessee Dragon,” a legendary winding mountain route beloved by bikers.

Pete’s quiet spirit, unwavering loyalty, and gentle soul will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

He is preceeded in death by his father, James Albert Lochala, and his mother Carolyn Louise Thurman Lochala.

He is survived by two brothers Bill Lochala (Lynn), and Greg Lochala; one nephew, Jesse Lochala (Jimmieanne); and one niece Leigh Hensley (Josh); along with one great nephew, Casen Hensley; one great niece, Brooklyn “Tootie” Hensley; and step great nieces, Abbi Mondragon (Aaron), and Ali Branch, and step great nephew, Wes Clines.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
