Dixie Nell Bays, 78, of Crossett, passed away in her home on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. She was a member of Egypt Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, playing games, and sightseeing in the mountains, but most importantly, she loved her family and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Dixie is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Abbie Stanley Rice; three brothers, Thomas, Faye, and Tracey Rice; two sisters, Verlee Rice Jenkins and Julia Anne Rice Jenkins; and one granddaughter, Cassandra LeAnne Dixon.
She leaves behind her loving husband of forty-one years, Danny Lamar Bays; and one son, Derryl Nellams (Shannon Rodriguez) both of Crossett; along with four daughters, Rita Nellams Dixon (James), Tina Nellams Carter (Donald), and Stacey Nellams Bulloch (Ragen) also of Crossett and Rhonda Nellams Curran (Keith) of Tampa, FL; two stepdaughters, Dana Bays Sawyer (Bobby) of Monticello, and Dianne Bays of Crossett; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Her family will hold a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at Egypt Missionary Baptist Church at 5:00 p.m., on Friday, August 23rd, with Pastor Keith Rose, officiating.
