Dorothy "Jean" Nellams, 70, of Crossett, passed away on January 26, 2025, at the Nightingale Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Shreveport, LA, on January 20, 1955, Jeanne was the daughter of Charles Leonard and Barbara June Barnett Woods.
Jeanne had a knack for finding treasures in thrift stores and loved the thrill of searching for bargains.
As a devoted homemaker, she took pride in creating a warm and inviting home, always filled with love and the comforting aroma of her famous tacos—a cherished family favorite. Her greatest joy came from her family, especially in her role as a grandmother, where she lovingly devoted her time to caring for and spoiling her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and leaves behind one son, Pace Mills (Tressie); and one daughter, Taylor Mills Stain, both of Crossett; along with two brothers, Charles Woods, Jr. “Chuck” (Lesley) of Branson, MO, and Jeffrey Woods (Grace) of Monroe, LA; one sister, Dana Patron (Steven) of West Monroe, LA; three grandchildren, Chase Mills, Trace Mills, and Gunner Stain; and one special aunt, Julia Mae Barnett “Tootsie”.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 1st, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett, with Bro. Chris Sexton, officiating, followed by interment at Unity Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Brendan Woods, Eli Owens, Andrew Herring, James Woods, Josh Woods, and Phillip Chavis.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
