Douglas Aubry Suitt, II, 74, of Crossett, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. He was born on March 31, 1950, to Douglas A. Suitt and Pearl Rossini Suitt.
Doug's early years were spent in Lake Village, Arkansas, where he attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Lakeside High School. He pursued higher education at the University of Arkansas at Monticello and Henderson State University.
A proud veteran, Doug served in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. After his military service, he embarked on a distinguished career with Homeland Security, from which he retired in 2013.
Doug's talents were numerous. As a musician, he could play nearly any instrument. His sense of humor and genuine interest in others made him a natural storyteller, capable of putting everyone at ease. Doug was also a master woodworker, known for his precision and skill in building anything his mind could conceive.
An avid reader, Doug was always in pursuit of further education, continually expanding his knowledge and understanding of the world. He had a deep love for animals, nature, and the great outdoors. Whether camping, hiking, or simply roughing it, Doug found peace and happiness in the natural world. One of his greatest joys was sailing with his father, cherishing those moments on the water.
In 2003, Doug married Pam Donham Suitt, a union that began a day before their 35th high school reunion. Their marriage brought together a loving family, including three stepsons, Eric, Dale, and Joshua Naron, and their families. Doug was affectionately known as "Pappy" by his grandchildren, who adored him.
Doug is survived by his wife Pam, his stepsons and their families, and his sister Celeste Hayes and her husband Charlie; along with a host of cousins and friends.
No services will be held at this time.
