Doyle Glennon, Sr. Obituary

Doyle Merrell Glennon, Sr., 83, of Crossett, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.  He was born on February 8, 1940, spent his early years growing up in the close-knit communities of Possum Valley and South Crossett, and was a member of the Cloverdale Assembly of God Church.

Doyle graduated from Crossett High School in 1958. Throughout his life, he made it a point to attend every class reunion, forging enduring bonds with his classmates that would stand the test of time.

A dedicated and diligent worker, Doyle dedicated numerous years of his life to the construction industry, making his mark and leaving a legacy of quality craftsmanship. His unwavering work ethic and dedication continued when he retired from Georgia Pacific after an impressive thirty-three years of service.

Doyle found his true joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for hunting and fishing, often sharing these experiences with his friends and family. One of his favorite pastimes was heading to the squirrel camp with his close companions. He also had a knack for creativity, crafting bird boxes and creating beautiful horseshoe art that showcased his unique talents.

Among his many loves in life, two held a special place in his heart. He adored his precious fur baby, "Prissy," showering her with affection and attention, and the absolute love of his life, his wife and best friend, Janell, who stole his heart so many years ago.  Doyle was also his little sister's hero, a role model who always provided love, guidance, and support.

Above all, Doyle was a man known for his kind-hearted nature and he lived his life with an unwavering commitment to his family.

He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-six years, Marilyn “Janell” Glennon; his parents, Terrell and Letha Brown Glennon; and one niece, DeAnna Ross-Carr.

He leaves behind two sons, Doyle M. “Bodie” Glennon, Jr. (Paula) of Marion, LA, and Richard Lane “Ricky” (Karen) of Milo, AR; and one sister, Dianne Cochran (Benny) of Crossett; along with nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and other relatives.
