Eddie Watt Obituary

Eddie Mack Watt, 74, of Crossett, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2024. Eddie was born on September 5, 1950, and grew up in Crossett, where he graduated from Crossett High School.

A dedicated worker, Eddie spent over 38 years working at Georgia Pacific before retiring as a boiler operator.

He was a man of many passions. He was a lifelong member of the "Snort" Watt/Poor Boy Deer Camp, where he shared his love for the outdoors with friends and family.  He also enjoyed fishing, raising chickens and rabbits, and took pride in his thriving vegetable garden. Fixing up old cars was also one of Eddie Mack’s many talents, and he created many memories working on various cars with his brother.

Known affectionately as "The Governor," Eddie’s gift for storytelling and his larger-than-life personality made him a joy to be around. With a knack for embellishment, he had a way of filling every room with laughter and leaving everyone with a smile.

Above all, Eddie cherished his family. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life, and he treasured every moment he could spend with them. His warmth, humor, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John E. “Snort” and Pauline Bardin Watt; one son, Stacy Mack Watt; one daughter, Melissa Dawn Watt; and two brothers, Johnny Frank Watt and Donnie R. Watt.

He leaves behind one daughter, Nora Christine “Chrissy” Watt of Crossett; and five grandchildren, Serenity, Stacy, Damon, Remington, and Dylan; along with nephews, Richard E. Watt (Sheila), Donnie M. Watt (Kimberly), and Randall B. Watt; niece, Keela K. Watt (Jimmy Ray); caregiver and cousin, Jimmy Dion Bardin; and a host of other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, December 12th, at Crossroads Cemetery with Bro. Kenneth Watt, officiating.  Pallbearers are Jeremy Barnett, Lee Taylor, Jimmy Bardin, Jake Watt, Donnie Watt and Randall Watt.  Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Murphy and John Garza.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m.  to 8:00 p.m.  at Eddie Mack’s home, 1698 Hancock Rd, in Crossett, on Wednesday.
