Edwin Browning Obituary

Edwin Ellis Browning, 78, of Crossett, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020, in Little Rock.  He was born in Louin, Mississippi, on October 22, 1941, to his parents, Luther Garvis and Lillian McCaughan Browning.

He graduated from Crossett High School in 1960, served honorably in the United States Navy on the USS Mitchell, and worked for Georgia Pacific for 44 years before retiring as a Beater Room Operator.

Since childhood, Edwin always had a love for animals. As a boy, he rode horses everywhere, and could often be seen even riding his bull around the neighborhood.  He enjoyed breaking and riding horses and raising goats. He also enjoyed sightseeing road trips, working in his vegetable garden, and sitting around watching the deer in his wheat field.
Edwin was a quiet, generous man who would help anyone in need.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Andrew Edward Browning; three brothers, Jim, Denzil, and Kenneth Browning; one step-sister, Sharon Henderson; and his step-mother, Charlene Browning.

He is survived by his special friend and caregiver of 29 years, Carolyn Fielder, of Crossett; two brothers, Bill Browning (Shirley) of Crossett and Aaron Browning (Brenda) of Mablevale, AR; two sisters, Aimee Stanley of Harrison, AR and Becky Zintel (Mark) of Crossett; and two grandchildren, Edwin Browning of Camden and Megan browning of Kimball, NE.
