Ellaween Elizabeth McCarty, 85, of Crossett, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at the Ashley County Medical Center. She was born in Holland, Arkansas, on January 27, 1937, to her parents, Samuel and Tilda Adams McCarty. She was raised in Michigan, was a graduate of Pontiac High School, and a resident of Crossett since the age of thirty-three.
Ellaween worked as a meat cutter for several years and enjoyed browsing thrift stores and yard sales. She loved listening to the old country and western music daily and her crush on Dwight Yokum was well known to her family.
Her nails were kept neatly painted; however, she had a natural green thumb, and enjoyed nurturing her many plants.
With a strong-willed and stubborn personality, she survived this world for eighty-five years, and with a tender loving heart, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one son, Alexander McCarty; and one grandson, Jeremiah McCarty.
She leaves behind one son, Myles McCarty (Laura) of Leslie, AR; and one daughter, Ramona McCarty Mott of Crossett; along with her sister, Shelby Jean McCarty Dye (Johnny) of Russellville, AR; one brother, Robert Rogers of Saginaw, MI; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Medders Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care.
No Services will be held at this time.
