Elmer Ebarb Obituary

Elmer Joseph Ebarb, 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025. He was born on November 20, 1948, in Converse, Louisiana, to Alex Ebarb and Maddie Meshell Ebarb.

Elmer lived a full and meaningful life, guided by his faith, love for family, and passion for the outdoors. He attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where he worshipped alongside his daughter, Julie.

During his years working in the oil fields and construction, Elmer stayed true to his values—hard work, honesty, and kindness. His hands were strong from labor, but he also had a warm and creative side. He made necklaces and knives from deer antlers, cooked hearty meals (his chicken and rice was a favorite), and told stories that brought smiles and laughter to those around him.

Elmer had a passion for hunting, fishing, and simply riding around, always finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. With a great sense of humor, a gift for storytelling, and his unique yodeling abilities, he made friends wherever he went. But most of all, he treasured time with his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Jean Ward Ebarb; his parents, Alex and Maddie Ebarb; his brothers, Sam Ebarb, Elred Ebarb, William Ebarb, Joseph Ebarb, Kernie Ebarb, and Robert Ebarb; and sisters, Trudy Jagger, Mary Regina Ebarb.

Elmer is survived by his daughters, Machelle McKibben, Julie Morman (Kelly), and Tammy West; and his sisters, Anna Walraven, Inez Jordan, Mary Yvonne Ebarb, and Shirley Henderson. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Coby Henslee, Ryan Henslee, Brandon Henslee, Christian Donaldson, Carolyn Morman-Mann, Joe Morman, and Amani Mondragon; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date.
