Enoch Oliver Ware

Enoch Oliver Ware, 88, a lifelong resident of Crossett, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025. He was born on April 22, 1937, in Crossett, to the late Edward and Lucille Byers Ware.

A 1955 graduate of Crossett High School, Enoch began his career with the Crossett Company, which later became Georgia-Pacific. He worked as an accountant in the Forestry and Plywood divisions until his retirement in 1996. Never one to stay idle, he later worked for Croswell Construction Company from 1997 until 2010.

Enoch enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—reading, traveling, hunting, and especially tending to his yard and doing odd jobs around the house. Known for his friendly nature, he never met a stranger, always gave others the benefit of the doubt, and truly enjoyed being around people.

His deep love for God and his spiritual foundation were rooted in the teachings of the Church of Christ, which guided him throughout his life. Above all, his faith in God, his love for his family, and his special fondness for animals remained the cornerstones of his life.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Attie Ware.

He leaves behind one son, Scott Ware of Crossett; and one sister, Hannah Weir of Elizabethton, TN.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 23rd, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett, with Bro. Kevin McDaniel, officiating, followed by interment at Crossroads Cemetery.  Due to excessive heat, there will be no services held at the graveside.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service.
