Felton Reece Jones, Sr., 92, of Crossett, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024. He was born in Sumpter, AR on February 15, 1932, to his parents, Guy Reece and Mary Mearl Smith Jones, and was a graduate of Hermitage High School.
For over thirty-eight years, Felton worked for Georgia Pacific, primarily in refrigeration maintenance, while also running a small appliance repair business to supplement his income. A tireless worker, he always ensured his family had everything needed and taught them to value things acquired through their own hard work.
Felton was a dedicated member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, and served faithfully as a deacon for many years. His strong faith defined him; he was a Godly man who walked closely with the Lord, prayed regularly, and lived a life of unwavering integrity.
Hunting, fishing, playing guitar, camping with his beloved wife, and raising his grandchildren, were among his many hobbies. He also possessed the remarkable ability to repair just about anything,
Felton was a quiet, humble, and loving man who never spoke ill of anyone and had a unique ability to connect with others on a sincere personal level.
The three most important things to him were God, his family, and his integrity—values he upheld throughout his life and passed on to those he loved.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Dell Orr Jones; one son, Felton Jones, Jr.; and two sisters: Allean Gorman and Marcel Jonio.
He leaves behind his daughter; Benita Kay Brooks (Ron) of Longwood, FL, his son; Nickey Raye Jones (Vicky) of Malvern, AR; seven grandchildren; Greg, Chris, Nicole, Mashaun, Johnathan, Katie and Cole; Eleven great-grandchildren, Colby, Brooks, Jaci, Hartley, Sydney, Hope, Faith, Nash, Austin, Paycyn and Christopher; three great-great grandchildren, Willow, Myla Beth and Olivia.
A Celebration of Life graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 20th, at Outlaw Cemetery in Hermitage, AR with Bro. Keith Boseman, officiating. Pallbearers are his grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11:00-12:00 p.m. Friday at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W., Crossett, prior to the service.
