Floyd Allen Stephenson

Floyd Allen Stephenson, 82, of Crossett, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 10, 2025. He was born on June 14, 1942, to Clarence and Audrey Johnson Stephenson, and was an active member of Beulahland Assembly of God Church.

Floyd was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He spent 39 years working for Georgia Pacific before retiring, but his true joy was found in the simple pleasures of life—camping, fishing, and hanging out with his two sons and beloved grandchildren.

Known for his quick wit, kind heart, and generous spirit, Floyd had a way of making people smile—whether it was through a well-timed joke or a gentle word of encouragement. He loved to tease and pick on those he cared about, a testament to his playful nature. His smile could light up any room, and it was that very smile that first caught the eye of his beloved wife, Gwen. Together, they shared 62 wonderful years of love and laughter.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons, Allen Stephenson, and one infant; one brother, Derrell Stephenson; and one sister, Opal Hartness.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Gwen Kelley Stephenson of Crossett; one son, Greg Stephenson (Lianne) of Hamburg; and one daughter in-law, Kristy Stephenson of Crossett; along with one brother, Aubrey Stephenson (Gwen); and one sister, Margie Carter both of Crossett; 5 grandchildren, Hannah Chapman (Daniel), Lacey Earls (Jacob), Harper Stephenson, Landry Cotton, and Leyton Cotton; and 5 great-grandchildren, Kinsley, River, Beau, Reese, and Colt; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Floyd’s family would like to give special thanks to Holli, Tamara, Kaitlyn, Michelle, Jenny, Reagan, Evelyn, Mercy, Jessica, and Bro. Andy Connard for their outstanding care and compassion.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 12th, at Beulahland Assembly of God Church with Rev. Steve McMellon and Rev. Matt Carter, officiating, followed by interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are Kerri Hartness, Mike Carter, David Stephenson, Charlie Smith, Leyton Cotton, Mike Sawyer, Daniel Chapman, and Jacob Earls.  Honorary pallbearers are Andy Lloyd, Bob Griffis, Richard Murphy, and Roger Nutt.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Beulahland Assembly of God.
