Due to inclement weather the services will be held at Medders Funeral Home Chapel,1562 HWY 52 Crossett, AR.

Frank Danner Edmonsond, 94, of Crossett, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on May 10, 1925, to his parents, Nathan, and Ada Danner Edmonsond.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II, including duty stations in Alaska.  He was a Naval weatherman and was present aboard one of the command ships during the Japanese surrender.

After proudly serving his country, he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Hendrix College and began working for the Crossett Chemical Company drilling mud and working on the development of Royal Oak Charcoal.  He also worked for the Lumber Company and eventually retired from Ashley, Drew, & Northern Railway Company after 15 years.

Frank graciously shared his love for the outdoors with his two sons, including teaching them how to fly fish, hunt for ducks, and how to search for unique rocks along with his two daughters.

He was a talented handyman, a loving grandfather, who never missed a game, and a God-fearing Christian man who attended First Freewill Baptist Church until his health deteriorated.

Frank was a brilliant man who spoke with precision, was loved by everyone, and who adored his family.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Pugh, and Virginia Davis; and one brother, Bill Edmonsond.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Nell Burnett Edmonsond of Crossett; two daughters, Nell Hamlin and husband, Bruce, of North Little Rock, Kathleen Case and husband, Danny, of Harrison; and two sons, Bob Edmonsond and wife, Nita, of Crossett, and John Edmonsond of Joplin, Mo; along with eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
