Frank Jerry Terrell Obituary

Frank Jerry Terrell, age 76, passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 7, 2020.

Jerry was the son of Frank Terrell and Billie (Rushing) Terrell, born on January 17, 1944 in Vernon, Alabama. He attended Crossett High School where he played football. He then served in the United States Army with the 34th Signal Battalion in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Following military service, Jerry returned to Arkansas, married Edith Martin, and they made their home in Crossett.

For over 30 years, Jerry owned and operated Jerry’s Carpets and Jerry’s Feed & Tack. He was a member of the Pine Street Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon. He was also active in the community and had been a member of the Kiwanis Club, had served on the board of North Crossett Utilities, and was a president and member of the Wrangler Riding Club. He was a competitive team roper, enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading western novels, and bragging about his grandsons. Among his favorite pastimes were visiting with his family and friends, preferably while sitting on his front porch, or while riding his favorite roping horse, Scamp.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jimmie and John Terrell.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Edith; one daughter, Tina Shepard (Joe); one sister, Debbie Forrest (Keith); three brothers, Jackie Terrell (Lynn), Joey Terrell (Cathy), and Dennis Terrell (Jeannie); two grandsons, Auborn Shepard and Jackson Counts (Nancy); and one great-granddaughter, Jules Counts; and many other relatives and friends.
