Franklin Eugene Davis, 79, of Crossett, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at the Stonegate Villa Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on September 8, 1939, to his parents, Paul and Eva Mills Davis. He was a graduate of Little Rock Central High School and a member of Meridian Baptist Church. He served proudly as an Airman in the United States Navy, and upon discharge, he returned to Little Rock where he was introduced to his soon to be, bride, Mary Ann McDonald. In 1965, Frank began a thirty-two year career with Georgia Pacific in the Extrusion Plant where he eventually retired as a supervisor.
Frank enjoyed cultivating his beautiful flowers and shrubs, monitoring his investments, and was a hardcore fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Arkansas Razorbacks. He was an exceptionally kind and generous man who truly cared about people, and most of all, loved his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents and six of his siblings. He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, MaryAnn Davis of Crossett; two sons, Paul Davis and wife, Vicki, of El Dorado, and Chris Davis and wife, Susan, of Crossett; two sisters, Ruth Ann Moore and husband, Charlie, and Jolene Garner both of Little Rock; nine grandchildren, Misti Jackson and husband, Rock, Dillon Davis, Madison Davis, Nicholas Davis, Brandon Johnson and wife, Casey, Shawn Johnson and wife, Sarah, Courtney Walker and husband, Dustin, Katie Stone, and Camryn Stone; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 30th, at Medders Funeral Home Chapel, 1564 Hwy 52 W, with Pastor Garry Massey officiating, followed by interment at Carlock Cemetery. Pallbearers are Dillon Davis, Nicholas Davis, Brandon Johnson, Shawn Johnson, Ken McDonald, and Rock Jackson.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday, June 29th at the funeral home.
