Genia Kay Manning, 78, of Crossett, Arkansas, passed away on January 12, 2024. She was born on June 25, 1945, was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a 1964 graduate of Crossett High School, and a beloved member of the First Freewill Baptist Church.

Her passions included gardening, antiquing, and cooking—her true love language. Genia Kay's renowned hospitality shone brightest during her favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, where she delighted in preparing a feast for her loved ones.

Genia Kay embodied humility and frugality, appreciating the simple joys of life. She cherished and appreciated everything, finding beauty in the little things and special moments. Her genuine nature was evident in her constant smile and sweet demeanor, making those around her feel loved and valued.

A woman of God, Genia Kay's faith was the cornerstone of her life. Her simplicity, kindness, and devotion were a testament to her deep spiritual connection. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Genia Kay's love extended to all generations of her family along with the animals which she also adored.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty-two years, Jesse “JC” Manning, her parents, Murrell and Ercille Rice Stanley, one brother Norman Stanley, and two sisters, Mary Ruth Burgess, and Genia Kay's infant twin, Frances Mae.

She leaves behind two sons, Jason Manning of Crossett, and Paul Manning (Betsy) of Little Rock; and one daughter, Terry Barnes also of Little Rock; along with four grandchildren, Mason Manning (Jaci), and Kate, Cameron, and Claire Barnes, and two great-grandchildren, Willow and Myla.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 18th, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett, with Rev. Joey Johnson, officiating, followed by interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are Mason Manning, Cameron Barnes, Richard McKinnon, Sam Burgess, Douglas Neal, and Mark Neal.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the First Free Will Baptist Church, 1301 Mimosa St, Crossett, AR 71635
