Glenda Jackson Obituary

Glenda Jackson, 77, of Gilmer, Texas, formerly of Crossett, Arkansas, passed away on March 17, 2025. She was born on September 18, 1947, to Barney McRae White and Flossie Etta Jones White.

Glenda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who touched the lives of many with her kindness and warmth. She carried a deep love for her family, always putting them first. The three most important things in her life were her children, grandchildren, and her beloved sister, Betty, with whom she spoke daily. Betty would say that she ordered Glenda from the Sears and Roebuck catalog, a testament to the special bond they shared.
A woman of great intelligence and a vibrant spirit, Glenda had many passions. She loved gardening, growing both flowers and vegetables, and found peace in fishing. She was an avid reader and a talented musician who played both the guitar and mandolin. She cherished her travels with her husband, especially to Mountain View, where she could enjoy the music and culture she loved. A gifted seamstress and decorator, she had a keen eye for making things beautiful. Above all, she found the greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren and grand-dogs.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lucy Dodge; one brother, Milton White; and her husband, Russell Edgar Jackson.

She is survived by her son, Randy Long (Rachell) of Gary, Texas; her daughters, Leigh Anne Tucker (Glenn) of Bryant, Arkansas, and Pam Speed of Little Rock, Arkansas; a sister, Betty Ruth Smith (Kenneth) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; one brother, Barney White (Tina) of Crossett, Arkansas; and three grandchildren, Dillon Jacobs, Hailey Jacobs, and Lucas Long.

A Celebration of Life Graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Crossett, with Bro. Kevin McDaniel officiating, under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.
