Helen Langley Obituary

Helen Virginia Langley, age 84, of Magnolia, formerly of Crossett, passed away November 14, 2021, at the Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden.  Helen was born on January 9, 1937, to her parents, Floyd and Martha Gamblin of Bismark, Missouri.  She was a member of Beech Street Baptist Church and a media member of the Sunlife Broadcasting Network.

Helen worked for the Crossett School District in the cafeteria, where she perfected her homemade cinnamon rolls that were later served as dessert at JR’s catfish restaurant in Eldorado.  Helen’s kids and grandkids also loved when she cooked her homemade waffles. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, sewing, canning, and watching the game show network.

Helen was happily married to her sweetheart, John Roy Langley, for 53 years. Their love story was unique, and talking about it always made her smile.

Along with her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, John Roy Langley, one son, Johnny E. Langley, one brother, Gene Gamblin, one sister, Dorothy Simino, and her son-in-law Kevin Wisecarver.

She leaves behind one daughter, Carmen Sue Wisecarver; one son, Jeffery Wayne Langley (Melissa); and seven grandchildren, Margarita Norment (Clint), Rocky Portillo, Krysta Parker (Daniel), Jeremy Langley (Mary), Stephanie Powell (Bill), Randee Jo Langley (Klint), Rachel Hayes (Hunter), and Kaylyn Turner; along with eleven great-grandchildren, Kelsi, Alissa, Abbigail, Ryder, John Garrett, Case, Brady, Colt, Truitt, Millie and Halsyn; and nine siblings, Pete, Delores, Almamae, Virgil, Alice, Ray, Sharon, Barbara, and Freida all from Missouri.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, November 18 at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 HWY 52 W, Crossett with Bro.
