Helen C. Stagg, 78, of Crossett, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on September 26, 1947, in Hamburg, Arkansas, to Dewey and Pearl Golden, and was a 1965 graduate of Hamburg High.
Helen spent several years as a dedicated homemaker and later worked—and eventually retired—from First National Bank of Crossett, where she was remembered for her warm smile, cheerful demeanor, and genuine kindness toward both coworkers and customers. A devoted Christian, she lived out her faith daily through acts of service, compassion, and encouragement. Sweet, steadfast, and endlessly giving, Helen carried a true servant’s heart, leaving a lasting impact on everyone blessed to know her.
She faithfully poured her time and talents into Mt. Olive Baptist Church, assisting with special projects, organizing numerous church functions, and joyfully supporting the ministry in every way she could. From an early age Helen carried a gentle spirit that touched every life around her. Helen always placed her family before her own needs, embodying generosity and unconditional love in every season of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Golden and Pearl Golden.
Helen is survived by her loving husband, George W. Stagg, Jr.; her daughters, Amy Hellinga (Rick) and Jennifer Stagg; her sons, Jamie Craig (Katrina), Jeff Stagg (Sarah), and Colin Stagg; and her brother, Ricky Golden (June). She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Coby Griffin, Blake Griffin, Robby Craig, Roxanne Craig, Samantha Miller, Cole Wallace, and Carson Fothergill, along with thirteen great- grandchildren and one great-great grandchild who brought her tremendous joy. Her grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W. on Saturday, November 29, at 10 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service with Bro. Doug Hibbard officiating.
