Inez Barnett Bell, 93, of Pennington, Alabama passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at her daughter’s home in Crossett. She was born on November 9, 1927, to her parents, Dewey and Rosalie Blissett Barnett. Inez was a southern Baptist and a faithful member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Pennington, AL.
On November 9, 1946, Inez married her best friend and soulmate, JC Bell, a love affair that would last seventy years. Together, they raised five children in a home full of love while teaching them the importance of serving and worshiping the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Inez enjoyed sitting outside watching the hummingbirds, working in her vegetable garden, sewing, and cross stitching. Her dumplings, cheese biscuits, and pecan pie were amazing and if you were visiting, she never let your sweet tea glass become empty.
Inez was a natural nurturer with a servant’s heart. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother who took great care of her family, whom she loved with all her heart.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, JC Bell; three sisters, Mamie Nugent, Johnnie Mae Bostic, and Mary Beth Edgar; three brothers, Harland, Cordell, and Raymond “Buddy” Barnett; and a son-in-law, Wayne Sheffield.
