James M. "Mike" Knickerbocker Obituary

Mike was born on June 29, 1942, in Warren, Arkansas, to the late James Douglas Knickerbocker and Nina Olga Sharp Knickerbocker. After graduating from college, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served his country honorably.

Mike felt that the births of his children were among his most treasured memories. He also believed that one of the greatest lessons of his life came through Alcoholics Anonymous, a program that profoundly impacted him and inspired his lifelong commitment to helping others.

A devoted horseman, Mike had a passion for horses and especially enjoyed raising cutting horses as a hobby. He was also a book publisher, combining his entrepreneurial spirit with a love of learning and sharing knowledge with others.

His dedication to recovery and service led him to establish New Beginnings Recovery Center in Warren, where he helped countless individuals find hope and a new direction in life. Through his compassion, encouragement, and understanding, he touched many lives during his years of service. Mike continued this important work until his retirement as Executive Director in 2020.

Mike will be remembered for his compassion, perseverance, and unwavering desire to help others overcome life's challenges. His legacy lives on in the many people whose lives were changed by his kindness and support.

In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated, and no services will be held.
