Jason Charles Murphy, 24, of Crossett, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020. He was born February 10, 1996, in Monticello, Arkansas, to his parents, William Patrick and Tammy Jo Vining Murphy. He was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a former student at Crossett High School, and an employee of Murphy’s Roofing for the last few years.
Jason loved playing video games and watching football. He played football in high school, and his favorite teams included the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Green Bay Packers, among others.
He loved funny movies and could easily make others laugh with his unique sense of humor. He was a loyal friend with a kind heart and a caring soul.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Judy Vining; both grandfathers, Bill Murphy and Houston Tomlinson; and one uncle, Tony Vining.
He is survived by his parents, Patrick and Tammy Murphy; one sister, Jessica Murphy (Jonathon Cassity) of Crossett; one brother, Justin Murphy (Kevin Bonner) of Foley, AL; grandfather, Charles Vining, of Crossett; grandmother, Rhonda Tomlinson, of Ft. Hill; one very special friend, Beverly Cruz, of Crossett; a special cousin, Samantha Murphy, of Collins, AR; three aunts, Donna Morgan, Judy Davis, Julie White (Dan); one uncle, Ron Murphy (Tracey); honored friends, The Murphy's Roofing Crew, Aaron Carter, William Morgan, Will Taylor, Stetson Stevens, Randall Watt; and a host of other friends and family.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
