Jenny Joann Patterson, age 79, of Crossett, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 16, 1944, Joann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and joy.
A faithful member of Second Baptist Church, Joann served as the cherished pianist, sharing her musical talents with the congregation for many years. Her dedication to her faith was evident in the love and kindness she extended to others, making her an integral part of the church community.
Joann was not only a homemaker but also an extraordinary caregiver, always putting the needs of her family first. Her nurturing spirit and selfless nature created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
One of Joann's favorite pastimes was spending quiet moments on her front porch, where she delighted in watching hummingbirds flutter and squirrels play. She also enjoyed cultivating vibrant flowers in her yard and cooking for her family. Her genuine kindness and warm spirit made her home a haven of hospitality.
Above all, Joann treasured her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she reveled in the joy they brought into her life.
Along with her husband, Dempsey Buck Patterson, she is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Inez Taylor; and two brothers, William Hunter Taylor and Grady Roy Taylor.
She leaves behind her three sons, Roy Patterson of Crossett, Charles Patterson (Laine) of Lake Village, AR, and Randy Patterson (Cammie) also of Crossett; along with two grandchildren, Megan Battaglia (Tony) and Justin Patterson (Amanda); and six great-grandchildren, Bryson, Katie, and Lola Grace Battaglia, and Thomas, Bridget, and Gavin Patterson.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 6th, at the Lick Prairie Cemetery, with Bro. James Harrington, officiating. Pallbearers are Keith Harrington, Bryson Battaglia, Justin and Thomas Patterson, and Jim and Stephen Carter.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett.
