UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION:
Jimmy Lee Ross, 67, of Crossett, passed away on April 6, 2020, in Perth, Australia, while on a dream vacation. He was born on June 17, 1952, to his parents, Ira Lee and Maudie Groves Ross. He was raised in Warren, Arkansas, where he graduated high school. He went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in Business Education from the University of Arkansas at Monticello, and a master’s degree from Louisiana Tech University.
Jimmy loved the Lord and volunteered as a lay minister whenever needed. For 25 years, he worked for Georgia Pacific, until his retirement in 2018.
He was an avid deer hunter with a larger than life personality and hilarious sense of humor. He was smart and gracious and always spoke with sincerity.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Barbara Ross. His survivors include one daughter, Alicia Liles, and husband, Jonathan of Crossett; two sisters, Martha Young of Rye, AR, and Janet Reaves of Scott, AR; his former wife and best friend, Debbie K. Ross of Crossett; and three grandchildren, Noah, Abigail, and Sophia; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, Crossett, AR 71635
Medders Funeral Home is complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funerals and visitations according to the Arkansas Govenor's mandates. All attendees must provide and wear a face mask upon entering and comply with social distancing and sanitizing guidelines.
Those that are considered high risk, running fever, or have been recently exposed to someone positive with COVID-19 are encouraged to stay home to protect themselves and others.
