John "Jack" Reynolds Obituary

John Russell “Jack” Reynolds, 85, of Crossett, left his life in Crossett, and entered into his eternal life on January 24, 2026.  He was probably headed to work when the Lord called him home.  He was born on August 5, 1940, to Russell “R.R.” and Geneva Church Reynolds.

Jack was a lifelong resident of Crossett. It was there that he met and married Bobbie Reynolds, his wife of 61 years.   They were married at First Baptist Church where they remained members for the rest of their lives.  Together, they had two daughters and a granddaughter all of which were loved dearly.

As a child, he enjoyed his life in both White Station and the Crossett Experimental Station.  He and his four siblings lived the kind of childhood that became wonderful stories of the friends and events that he told often.  Jack was a drum major for the Crossett High School band.  Music was very important to him.  He was a member of the FBC church choir and Golden Voices.  He also made sure many events around the city of Crossett had sound and often operated the equipment.

He was truly a ‘Jack of all Trades’.  After completing trade school in Kansas City to become an electrician, Jack worked for the tissue mill at Georgia Pacific.  Later he opened R & R Electronics and then on to many endeavors such as a partnership in a bowling alley, a car dealership, a grocery store, a sandwich shop, just to name a few of his adventures.  He was at various times a biker, a pilot, a boat captain, and a heavy equipment operator.

Jack was never idle and never met a stranger.   He continued to work and make new friends all his life long.  There are not enough words of thanks for all of the friends and acquaintances that allowed him to continue the things that he loved over the many decades.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Bobbie, his parents, Russ ”R.R.” and Geneva Reynolds, his brother Robert Reynolds and his wife Lummie, and his sisters, Ruth McDonald and Diane Sue Reynolds.

He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Bivings (Richard) of Hot Springs, AR and Susan Walker of Alexandria, LA one granddaughter, Megan Bivings, Hot Springs, AR, and one brother, Richard “Dick” Reynolds (Sharron) of Montgomery, AL.  He also had a several nieces and nephews that were very special to him.

Special thanks to his faithful employees and caregivers both at home and the Columns.  Your care and devotion have been invaluable.
