Kenneth Wayne Neal, Sr., 77, of Crossett, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023. He was born in Delhi, Louisiana on October 9, 1946, to his parents, Elvis Melton and Daisy Marie Nethery Neal. He was a graduate of Rayville High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
A skilled professional truck driver, Kenny navigated the highways with precision and grace throughout his career. His CB handle, "Blue Diamond," became synonymous with his presence on the road, and fellow truckers recognized him as a reliable and friendly companion on their journeys.
Beyond the road, Kenny had a deep passion for music, and he often showcased his talent on the guitar creating a harmonious atmosphere wherever he went. Whether strumming his guitar alone or jamming with friends, Kenny's love for music was infectious.
In addition to his musical talents, Kenny was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. His love for the open road and the freedom it symbolized led him to not only ride motorcycles but also to build one with his own hands.
Kenny will be remembered not only for his military service, craftsmanship, and artistic pursuits but also for the warmth and kindness he extended to those fortunate enough to know him. His love for his family and friends was undeniable and his memory will be forever cherished.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, his baby sister, Ethel Marie Neal, and Carolyn Wiggins; and one brother, Russell Dean “Rusty” Neal.
He leaves behind one son, Kenneth Neal, Jr. (Ann) of Crossett; three daughters, Lesa Neal Streeter (Kevin) also of Crossett, Cindy Norman (Jeremy) of Hamburg, and Michelle Biggs (Tommy) of Crossett; along with one stepson, Riley Slack of Crossett; ten grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; his beloved fur baby, “Frankie”; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and ex-wives.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, December 18th, at the Lone Cherry Cemetery in Mangham, Louisiana. Pallbearers are Kenny’s grandsons and great-grandsons.
