Kenneth "Kenny Wayne" Coody Obituary

Kenneth Wayne Coody, “Kenny Wayne”, age 65, of Crossett, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.  He was born in Buras, LA, on May 14, 1958, and was a lifelong resident of Ashley County.

For several years, Kenny Wayne worked as a painter and carpenter for Coody Painting, alongside his brother, Doyle, where his talent for painting was evident in every project.

Kenny Wayne was a friendly soul who always found joy in simple pleasures. He could often be found sitting outside, enjoying the company of friends, vegetable gardening, or just kicked back immersed in a good western. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Doyle Coody, Sr.; his mother and stepfather, Ruby Cross Adams, and James Adams; one sister, Dorothy Pollock; one brother, Willie Earl Pollock; and one niece, Betty Ann McNeice.

He leaves behind one sister, Helen McNeice (Joe); and one brother, Doyle Coody, Jr. (Patty) all of Crossett; and a host of nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 26th, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett, with Bro. Donnie Dubose, and Jason Dubwig, officiating, with interment at Antioch Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Raymond and David King, Justin Smith, Phillip Wisecarver, Marvin and Nathan Hensley, John Kinnaird, and Blake Riley.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 25th at Medders Funeral Home.

His family would like to give special thanks to the staffs of ACMC and Baptist Health for the care given to Kenny Wayne and to the many friends and family for the many calls and texts.
