Laura "Melissa" Langley Obituary

Laura “Melissa” Langley, age 54, of Crossett, passed away October 29, 2024, at the Ashley County Medical Center. Melissa was born on June 26, 1970, to her parents Jerry Reynolds of Crossett and Patsy Reynolds of Star City. She was a 1988 graduate of Crossett High School and a member of New London Baptist Church in Strong.

Melissa worked as a Cosmetologist for 24 years where she was not only a cosmetologist, but a friend to many. She lived life to the fullest and no matter what life threw at her she always had a smile on her face. She loved big and her personality lit up the room. Melissa cherished time with her loved ones, especially watching drag racing with her dad and brother.  She also loved watching her daughters share in her enthusiasm for dance and pageants.

At the age of twelve, Melissa met Jeff and always said she would marry him one day. She was married to her sweetheart for 34 years and was proud to let everyone around her know just how much she loved him. Melissa loved being a wife and mom, but the title of “GiGi” was her favorite.

From October 16, 2018, until October 29, 2024, she fought hard battling against cancer and her faith in Jesus Christ never wavered. Through all the ups and downs, she stayed strong and showed everyone around her that no matter what she went through, she served a greater God, and she knew that one day she would be healed, either here on Earth or in Heaven.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jerrell and Madge Reynolds, and John Rodney and Martha Gilbert Anders; in-laws, John Roy and Helen Langley; and one brother-in-law, Johnny Langley.

She leaves behind her husband Jeff, two daughters, Randee Jo Connor (Klint), Rachel Hayes (Hunter); and two bonus children, Kaylyn Turner and Kenyon Brantley; along with three grandchildren, Halsyn, Millie, and Kensley; her parents, Jerry Reynolds (Sheryl), Patsy Reynolds (Rick Robertson); four siblings, Scott Reynolds (Kara), Julie Roberson (Randy), Macky Toler, Tim Toler (Felicia); eleven nieces and nephews, Garrett Reynolds (Aubrey), Jeremy Reynolds, Grant Roberson, Ray Toler, Allie Scanlan (Steven), Anna Cate Toler, Krysta Parker (Daniel), Jeremy Langley (Mary), Stephanie Powell (Bill), Margarita Norment, Rocky Portillo; and a host of great nieces and nephews.
