Lonnie Gene Cockrell

Our family will miss this bigger than life character more than we can say! When our grandson were small they misunderstood his name & said Uncle Bologna! It stuck & fit him to a tee! He had a heart big as his personality & would rather pick & carry on than anything. Grant it he has ruffled my feathers a few times. He still laughed about the day he was giving a man a ride home from the mill. Lonnie pointed to our truck that I was sitting in waiting on Ronna Dean to come out. This man gets in the passenger side & shuts the door. Lonnie walks on by! He told the man that was his truck!! I don’t think either of us said a word. He got out & followed Lonnie & I bet had some choice words for him!! I believe Lonnie loved life & certainly left his mark. We will miss our phone calls everyday & he always ask how my pig was. We will always love & miss him but oh what memories & you have to smile when you think of him.

To this great family so sorry for this lost. I have known Lonnie all my life, next door neighbor when I was a kid. Couldn't ask for a better friend or person. When my brother had cancer Lonnie was a great inspiration for him to fight to live. Thank you Lonnie for all you did. Rest In Peace my friend.
