Lucille Davis Greene, 84, of Crossett, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Audrey’s Special Home in Hamburg, Arkansas. She was born on June 30, 1937, to her parents, Lawrence and Olvie Wilson Davis. Lucille grew up in Parkdale, Arkansas, and was a 1955 graduate of Wilmot High School.
For many years, Lucille worked as a department manager at Wal-Mart in Crossett. She was a hard worker and loved by her many customers and co-workers for her kind, sweet nature and beautiful smile.
She loved animals, especially hummingbirds and rabbits, and her family was everything to her. Nothing brought her as much joy as spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Donald R. Greene; two daughters, Lora Newhouser and Sandra Lynn Pippen; one grandson, Michael Joseph Pippen; two brothers, Thurman and Raymond Davis; and two sisters, Ruby Wilkerson, and Margie Prescott.
She leaves behind five children, Mike Greene (Pattie) of Junction City, AR, LaDonna Ann Willis (Mike) of Crossett, Belinda Curran of Monticello, AR, and Loretta Duncan (Emory) and Bryan Pippen, both of Crossett; two sisters, Vivian Ware of Hamburg, and Viriginia Roberson of El Dorado; one brother, Marvin Davis (Mary) of Fountain Hill; along with nine grandchildren, Paul, Angella, Kristie, Jessica, Kasey, Trent, Dustin, Slade, and Josh, fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 19 at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, Crossett with Bro. Danny Merriweather, officiating followed by interment at Carlock Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Paul Greene, Bryan Pippen, Ty Duncan, Dustin Curran, and Kasey and Trent Newhouser. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Sturgeon, Frank Sturgeon, and Sidney Coady.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Tuesday prior to the service.
Lucille’s family would like to send a special thanks to the staff of Audrey’s Special Home for the love and outstanding care they gave to Lucille. They treated her as family and may God bless each and every one of them.
