Mac "Andy" Andrew Tarver

Mac “Andy” Andrew Tarver, 51, of Crossett, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, after a brief illness. He was born on July 2, 1974, to James and Martha Tarver in Fort Polk, Louisiana.

Andy will be remembered by all who knew him as a giving person, always willing to help wherever he could. He had been a member of Meridian Baptist Church since 1986. He loved fishing—no matter what was biting, he would head out as soon as he got off work. Andy also loved the sport of bull riding and competed in many competitions, winning the Arkansas State Champion Bull Rider title in 1993.

Those who knew Andy knew how proud he was of his daughter, Olivia. They shared an amazing bond, and making memories with her was his favorite pastime. He was her biggest supporter from the time she signed up for T-ball until she joined the Marine Corps.

He is survived by his daughter, Olivia Paige Tarver of Destin, Florida; his mother, Martha Tarver of Crossett; one brother, James “Jimmy” Tarver of Ruston, Louisiana; one sister, Janet Jones of Crossett; one nephew, McKinly Tarver of Hermitage, Arkansas; two great-nephews, Jonah and Wyatt; and one great-niece, Jenna.

Andy was preceded in death by his father, James Harold Tarver; brother, Walter Jarvis Tarver; his maternal grandparents, Andrew H. Davidson and Elizabeth A. Davidson; and his paternal grandparents, James M. Tarver and E. Jeanette Tarver.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W in Crossett, with Bro. Kevin McDaniel officiating, followed by interment at Hickory Grove Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers are McKinly Tarver, James Davidson, Mike Frisby, Todd Hickman, Eugene Barnett, and Bryan Martin. Honorary pallbearers are Aubrey Wells and Terry Barnett.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 19, at Medders Funeral Home.
