Margaret Susan (Johnson) Craven

Margaret Susan Craven, age 70, of Crossett, passed away at home on August 28, 2020, after a prolonged battle with cancer.  Susan was born in Crossett, Arkansas on April 25, 1950, to Frank and Odelle Owens Johnson.

Susan was a teacher at heart.  After receiving her degree in Education from the University of Arkansas, Susan taught school for many years, but her passion was teaching God’s Word.  Her final Sunday School class was the Gleaners of her home church, First Baptist Church of Crossett, a senior adult women’s class.  She loved each Sunday of those 12 years of service, teaching and sharing with her mentors of faith.

Susan is survived by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth Craven; brother Owen Johnson of Fayetteville; her children Todd (Katie) Craven of Cabot and Christi (Kurt) Price of Crossett; grandchildren Lucy Craven, Caroline Price, and Timothy Price.

Her life will be celebrated in a private family service Sunday, August 30, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W in Crossett, Arkansas, officiated by Brother Jamie Staley. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Crossett, Building Maintenance Fund, 701 Main Street, Crossett, Arkansas 71635.

Medders Funeral Home is complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and the Arkansas Govenor's mandates.  All attendees must provide and wear a face mask and comply with social distancing and sanitizing guidelines.

Those that are considered high risk, running fever, or have been recently exposed to someone positive with COVID-19 are encouraged to stay home to protect themselves and others.
