Marilyn Janell Glennon, 74, of Hermitage passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at the Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. She was born in Hornbeck, LA on March 27, 1943, to her parents, Leonidas and Mildred Holt. Soon after her family moved to Crossett in 1960, she met and married her sweetheart, Doyle Glennon, Sr. The two shared a love like no other, were best friends for 56 years, and attended Cloverdale Assembly of God Church. Janell had many hobbies, including fishing, dancing, decorating cakes, cooking, and working on assorted crafts. She also loved butterflies, was a huge Elvis fan and loved buying shoes, but most of all; Janell had a love for life and family. Her grandbabies were her world and her laughter and sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her maternal grandparents, John and Natile Gibson.
She is survived by her husband, Doyle Glennon, Sr. of Hermitage; two sons, Doyle M. Glennon, Jr. "Bodie" and wife Paula of Marion, LA, and Richard Lane Glennon "Ricky" and wife Karen of Hamburg; two sisters, Peggy Brown of Florien, LA and Patsy Ellis and husband Rupert of Lumberton, TX; one brother, John Holt also of Florien, LA; fifteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 14th at the Sixteenth Section Cemetery near Monticello, AR, with Pastor Wesley Miller officiating, under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Martin, Caleb Glennon, Logan Glennon, Kory Steen, Kylan Johnson, Trace Squyres, Aiden Glennon, and Roman Glennon.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 13th at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett.
