Mark G. Ferrell, age 68, of Crossett, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, after a brief illness.
He was born on January 25, 1957, in Crossett, Arkansas, to Samuel Clarence “S.C.” Ferrell and Narvie Lee Sims Ferrell.
Mark was a 1975 graduate of Crossett High School and went on to earn a degree in History from Vanderbilt University. He later received a Master’s Degree in Education from Ouachita Baptist University. A deeply patriotic man, Mark proudly served his country as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army during Operation Desert Storm.
After returning home from the war, Mark joined the family business, Ferrell House Moving Company, where he worked for many years before retiring.
In his spare time, Mark had a passion for music—both playing and listening—and was a devoted fan of the New Orleans Saints.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant granddaughter, Stella Nicole Peters.
Mark is survived by his daughter, Aja Nicole Ferrell of Milo; two grandchildren, Grant Harrison Peters and Levi Evan Lochala; as well as a host of friends who will remember him fondly.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Pinewood Memorial Park, with Kevin McDaniel officiating.
Services are entrusted to Medders Funeral Home of Crossett.
