Marsha L. Funderburg

Marsha Lynn Smith Funderburg, age 68, of Crossett, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born on October 30, 1954, to Edd T. Smith and Ethel Rae Blackwell in Crossett, Arkansas. Marsha spent her entire life in Crossett, where she excelled in her chosen roles as a wife, mother, nanna, and homemaker, always giving selflessly of herself.

Marsha is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Johnny Lavell Blankenship. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Rickie Funderburg of Crossett; two daughters, Shannon Michel (Ben) of Monticello and Monica Williams (Wesley) of Hamburg; one sister, Deborah McKeegan (John) of Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers, Michael W. Smith (Connie) of Crossett and Edward L. Smith (Mary) of Miles City, Montana. Marsha also held the cherished title of Nana to her beloved six grandchildren: Alexander Olguin (Morgan), Nathaniel Olguin (Serenity), Riley Stevens, Kloe Stevens, Annalee Williams, and Wyatt Williams; along with two great-grandchildren, Jacqueline Ripley Olguin and Alina Fray Olguin.

A Celebration of Life in memory of Marsha will take place on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Mt Olive Baptist Church. The service will be under the direction of Medders Funeral Home of Crossett, with Brother Eric Hodge and Eddie Smith officiating, followed by burial at Cross Road Cemetery. A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Medders Funeral Home.

The pallbearers for the service will be Philip Jones, Conley Williams, Kent Kilcrease, Michael Lewis Mathews, Colton Williams, and Wade Barnett. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Marsha's memory.

Marsha's warm heart, unwavering love, and selfless dedication to her family and friends will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
