Marshall "Ross" Bryan Obituary

Marshall "Ross" Bryan, 87, of Crossett, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

Ross was born on August 10, 1938, in Hamburg, Arkansas, to the late Dollie and Ollie Ross Bryan. He graduated from Hamburg High School in 1956 and went on to serve his country honorably in the Army National Guard. A proud American throughout his life, Ross deeply valued hard work, personal responsibility, and the freedoms he enjoyed as a citizen of this great nation.

Ross dedicated more than twenty years of his career as an Electrical Superintendent with M. W. Kellogg, a Halliburton company. His work afforded him and his family the opportunity to experience life in many parts of the world, including Iran, Indonesia, and Algeria. These adventures created cherished memories and broadened his appreciation for different cultures and people.

A man of many talents, Ross was known for his ability to build and create. Whether constructing houses, solving problems, or tackling a difficult project, he approached every task with determination and confidence. One of the life lessons he shared with those around him was simple but powerful: "Believe that you can do it and get it done."

Ross was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Eastern Star, organizations that reflected his commitment to fellowship, service, and community. He enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing, and hunting, and treasured the many hours spent with friends at their beloved squirrel camp known as "The Driftwood."

Above all, Ross loved his family. Some of his happiest moments were spent cheering from the stands and sidelines as he faithfully followed his grandchildren to their ballgames and activities. He took great pride in their accomplishments and never missed an opportunity to support and encourage them.

Ross is preceded in death by his father, Dollie Bryan; his mother and stepfather, Ollie and Curtis Evans; one brother, David Bryan; and two sisters, Glendora Laurison and Edna Justice.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of sixty-seven years, Mary Frances Mann Bryan; one daughter, Venda White (Steve); one son, Bobby Bryan, Sr.; and one brother, Donald Ray Bryan; along with four grandchildren, Stan M. White (Amy), Kari Jo Craig (Colt), Bobby Ross Bryan, Jr. (Jessica), and Ben Bryan (Baylee); eight great-grandchildren, Trystan, Jonah, and Abram White, Dalton, Blayton, and Dayton Craig, and Gracie and Madie May; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Masonic Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, June 3rd, at Crossroads Cemetery Pavillion, with Bro. Dalton Keith, officiating.  Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Pallbearers are Bobby Ross Bryan, Ben Bryan, Stan White, Colt Craig, Trystan White, Jonah White, Abram White, Dalton Craig, Blayton Craig, and Dayton Craig. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Finley, Jamie Garrison, David Bryan, Jr., Mike Maxwell, Michael Smith, Mark White, Doug Webb, and the Hamburg High School Class of 1956.

Visitation will be immediately following the service at the Crossroads Cemetery Pavillion.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Hospice Home Care, The Pillars, Audrey's Special Home, and Cyndi Murphy for the exceptional care, unwavering support, and genuine compassion they provided to Ross and his family during a difficult time.
