Marvin Randall "Randy" Hammons Obituary

Marvin Randall “Randy” Hammons, 59, of Crossett, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.  He was born in Monroe, Louisiana, on September 19, 1962, was a lifelong resident of Crossett, and a member of the First Assembly of God Church.

For twenty-eight years Randy worked as a mechanic for the Bemis Bag Co., however; Randy was a man of many talents.  He could fix just about anything and would drop everything to go help a friend with a project.  He was also an amazing gardener.  He took great pride in his vegetable garden and his day lily garden, much of which he even pollinated himself.

Randy had an adventurous soul.  As a young boy, he often hitched a ride on the train that would take him straight to his grandparents’ house.  The conductors all knew him by name and his grandparents were always there to greet him.  He had a fascination for trains as well as airplanes, but Randy was perfectly content just riding around with his furry sidekick, “Max”.

He is proceeded in death by his grandparents, Marvin and Goldie Phillips and William and Ladell Hammons.

He leaves behind his soulmate of twenty-six years, Jenny Hammons; three sons, Christopher Hammons (Amanda), and Michael Hammons both of Snyder, and Jesse Hammons of Crossett; one daughter, Anna Hammons also of Crossett; his parents, Elvis and Cathy Phillips Hammons of Crossett; two brothers, Billy Hammons (Dawn) of Benton, Arkansas, and John Hammons (Stacey)of Crossett; two sisters, Robin Foreman (Bill), of Crossett, and Amanda Green (Bruce) of Junction City; three grandchildren, Gavein Watt, Maddie Denmon, and John Michael Hammons; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
