Mary Bays Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Bays, 96, of Hamburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.  She was born on March 22, 1926, to her parents, Frank and Katie Dailey Rosen, was a lifetime resident of Ashley County, and an active member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Hamburg.

Mary served the Lord as a former Sunday school and bible schoolteacher, and faithfully read her bible daily.

Reading, especially Louis L'Amour novels, and working in her yard, was mostly how she enjoyed her days; however, she was also a fabulous cook and a talented quilter and seamstress.

Mary also loved to talk to anyone who stopped by for a visit.  She could be very outspoken, and a tad feisty, but her love for the Lord and her family was unmistakable.

She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, David C. Bays; one son-in-law, Kenneth R. Pinson; and all seven of her siblings.

She leaves behind two daughters, Nancy Pinson of Lonoke, AR, and Melinda Brandon (Ray) of Ponotoc, MS; and one son, David Russell Bays (Robin) of Fayetteville, PA; along with six grandchildren, Angela Sumner (Ken), Craig Pinson (Stephanie), Katie Parker (Aaron), Phillip Brandon (Kara), Brock Craig, and Emily Muller (Josh); thirteen great-grandchildren, Mary Katherine Sumner King (Tanner), Matthew Sumner, Max Pinson, Cooper Pinson, Natalie Pinson, Conley Pinson, IvaKate Parker, Amos Parker, Valerie Brandon, Zoe Brandon, Elena Brandon, Melanie Muller, and Russell Muller; one special nephew, Mike Bays; and a special friend, Connie White

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 6th at Medders Funeral Home Chapel with Bro.
