Mary "Elizabeth" Pogue Obituary

Mary "Elizabeth" Pogue, 75, of Crossett, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2024. She was born in Rayville, LA on February 19, 1949, to her parents, Robert Earl and Athelene Holloway McKellar.

To better provide for her family, Elizabeth pursued and earned a business degree from Northeast Louisiana University (now ULM), showcasing her dedication to personal growth and determination to succeed.

She worked diligently for the state of Tennessee for many years, earning recognition from the governor for her outstanding service. Though her health eventually necessitated retirement, Elizabeth remained a steadfast and determined spirit, embracing life to its fullest.

A true homemaker at heart, Elizabeth found joy in cooking, camping, and tending her vegetable garden. Her home was filled with the fruits of her labor, as she lovingly canned vegetables to share with friends and family. Her generosity extended beyond her home; she was an active volunteer at her church, serving with a giving and faithful heart.

Elizabeth was also proud of her political convictions and her membership in the Republican Party. Her strength, both in her beliefs and in her approach to life, was an inspiration to those who knew her.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of thirty-three years, Larry Audrey Pogue.

She leaves behind her son, Gary Don Madden (Gale) of Crossett; and two brothers, Ray E. McKellar (Jan) of Carson City, NV, and Joe McKellar (Karla) of Whitefish, MT; along with seven grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Beckham, Jaci Lynn Tucker, Trace Allen Tucker, Jon Eric Garcia (Pamela), Ashlyn Belle Thomas, Kaylee Arnold, and Falyn Arnold.

Services will be held at a later date.
