Mary Elizabeth (Mae) (Hagood) McDaniel

Mary Elizabeth (Mae) Hagood McDaniel age 93, of Crossett passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023. She was a lifelong resident of Crossett and graduated from Crossett High School in 1947. She was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church where she was a member of the "Snails", a group for widows. She was employed by Tri-State Mill Supply for 23 years.

When she retired, she started keeping children in her home and worked for Magnolia Baptist Church as a paid nursery worker for about 5 years. She also baked and decorated cakes for the public for about 5 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Faben McDaniel, her parents, Agnes (Walser) and Hoyle (Preacher) Hagood, and her sister Virginia (Hagood) McElroy (Jamie) and many other relatives.

She is survived by her son, Steve McDaniel (Shirley) of Crossett, two granddaughters, Tara McDaniel, of Malvern,AR and Miriam Beverly (Michael) of Crossett, four great-grandchildren Shay Roland, Aaliyah Dodd, Malyki McDaniel all of Crossett and Matthew Drennon of Trafelgar, Indiana as well as one Great Great-Grandson, Liam Zarate also of Crossett. She had a very special niece, Susanne (McElroy) Ballard whom she loved like a daughter and many other nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be on Saturday, November 18th at 2:00 p.m., at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett, with Bro. Mike Griffith and Bro. Ernest King, officiating. A private interment at Crossroads Cemetery will be held at a later date.
