Milton White Obituary

Milton Ray White, 81, of White Station in Crossett, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord on April 25, 2024.  He was a lifelong resident of White Station where his mother, Flossie White, had a convenience store many years ago with the RC Cola sign.

Milton was the third child of Barney McRay White and Flossie Jones White, who preceded him in death along with his sister, Lucille White Dodge and his daughter, Sharon Lynette White Ayres.

Milton is survived by his wife, Shirley Cockrell White; and two sons, Gregory Coyce White (Laney) and David Ray White; along with his siblings, Betty White Smith (Kenneth), Barney White (Tina), and Glenda White Jackson; two grandsons, Gregory Addison Kendall White and Brodie James White; one aunt and uncle; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A special thank you to niece, Whitney White, who lived across the street and graciously took care of mowing, picked up mail, fed the dog, and helped Milton when technology eluded him.  She has been a special blessing to the family.

A special thanks also goes to Milton’s sons for assisting in driving for his extended hospitalization.

Milton served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. From 1961 – 1965, where he was awarded the pistol marksman badge.

Milton worked at Georgia Pacific tissue mill from 1967 – 2006, as a tissue machine operator.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and gardening.  He also loved running races and traveling, especially to his wife’s cousin’s family ranch south of San Antonio, TX.

Later in life he enjoyed attending Ouachita Baptist University football games where his son, David was videographer.

Milton was a loving father to his children as well as a loving grandfather to his grandchildren.
