Nelda Faye (McKay) Wright

Nelda Faye Wright, 91, of Crossett, passed from this life into the arms of her Savior on Thursday, September 26, 2025.

Born to William Louie and Linnie Todd McKay, Nelda was a woman who lived with a steadfast faith, a strong will, and a servant's heart. She worked as a bookkeeper for Pierce Grassi and later at Jack Reynolds Bowling Alley, where her sharp mind and diligent work ethic were well respected. 

Nelda enjoyed the simple but meaningful joys of life-tending her vegetable garden, canning the fruits of her labor, and caring for her many flower beds. Her African violets were her pride, and she could often be found surrounded by their colorful blooms. She loved to cook and had a special talent for acrylic decorating, always pouring creativity and care into everything she touched. 

A faithful member of Pine Street Church of Christ, Nelda taught Sunday School for over 20 years. She was also an active part of the ladies' group, who devoted countless hours to preparing meals and caring for others in the community. Whether at church, at home, or among friends, Nelda lived a life of service, always busy, always giving, and always lifting up those around her. 

She will be remembered most for her faith, her devotion to family, and her genuine love for others. Her friendly spirit, helpful nature, and unwavering care left a mark on every life she touched. 

Nelda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Leo Wright; her parents, William Louie and Linnie Todd McKay; her sister, Louise Crawford; and her brother, Buddy McKay. 

She is survived by her son, Phil Wright of Sugar Hill, GA; her daughter, Paula Aulds and husband Johnny of Kirbyville, TX; her sister, Charlotte Taylor; as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly. 
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, at 11 :00 a.m. at Pine Street Church of Christ, with Bro. Jerry Martin officiating. A time of visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., prior to the service. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home of Crossett.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Friend, Lamar Gammel, Lance Griffin, Jerry Ray Hambrick, Tommy Pahal, and Tommy Pearson.
