Odette McKoin Blankenship, 93, of Crossett, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017, at the home of Pamela Adams. She was born on February 19, 1924, to her parents Joseph Eddie and Myrtle McKoin. She married her late husband, W.R. Blankenship in 1942, and assisted him with his logging business, Blankenship Logging, as the bookkeeper for many years. In addition, she also did the bookkeeping for the Wheel Ranch and was very talented at repairing chainsaws. She was a member of the Church of Christ on Pine Street and her hobbies included growing flowers, baking, and taking care of those in need. She loved her family and was very devoted to her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, W.R. Blankenship; one son, William Rogers Blankenship; three sisters, Willie Bee Tubbs, Bonnie Lynn Wooden, and Kathleen Blankenship; one brother, John Howell McKoin; and one great-grandson, Zach Towers.
She is survived by two sons, Mark Blankenship and wife Connie and Jerry Ray Blankenship and wife Marsha all of Crossett; one brother Joe Frank McKoin of Bastrop, LA; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Ray Blankenship, Janet McGhee, Christy Rasico, and Mark Garrett Blankenship; and ten great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 26th at Antioch Cemetery with Bro. Keith Boseman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Antioch Cemetery Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.
