Petunia Ann Bridges, 58, of Crossett, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born on December 11, 1957, to her parents, Billy Joe and Earnestine McCrory Bridges. Throughout her life, she worked at the Shirt Factory in Hamburg, AVA, then eventually for Brookshire’s Grocery Store, which she considered a second home and her coworkers and customers extended family. Ann’s caring nature and love for others was such a strong part of her personality that she often made sacrifices herself so that she could give to others, especially her family. She was considered the “Caretaker” of her family, and she loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. Her big heart and infectious smile will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Billy Joe Bridges; her mother, Earnestine Boyd; one brother, Billy Ray Bridges; and one sister, Wanda Bond.
She is survived by one brother, Gary Bridges and wife Laurene of Crossett; two sisters, Janice Grayson and husband Joe of Star City, and Julie Kelley of Crossett; a host of nieces and nephews; and her best friend, her Maltese, “Mac”.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 27th, at Medders Funeral Home Chapel, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in North Crossett, with Bro. Donnie Dubose officiating, followed by an interment at Montrose Cemetery. Pallbearers are Stephen Cotton, David Edwards, Barry Morgan, Donald Mathews, Lane Jenkins, and Dennis Alexander. Honorary pallbearers are Freddy Brown and her Brookshire's coworkers.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
