Obituary

Phillip Ronald Clark, age 73, a resident of Bastrop, Louisiana, passed away on July 31, 2023. He was born on November 7, 1949, in Crossett, Arkansas, was a 1967 graduate of Crossett High School, and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

His professional journey led him to Georgia Pacific, where he worked as an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician for ten years, and later to International Paper, where he served for an impressive twenty-eight years until the unfortunate closure of the company.

Beyond his profession, Phillip embraced the tranquility of nature through his love for fishing and hunting, finding peace and joy in the great outdoors. When not pursuing these interests, he could often be found engrossed in a good book or sharing moments with friends over a cup of coffee.  He had an amiable nature and never met a stranger.  His warm heart allowed him to connect with people effortlessly and would graciously help anyone in need.

Phillip loved his precious Corvette, which represented not only his love for cars but also his zest for life and adventure. However, his greatest source of happiness was undoubtedly his grandchildren. Phillip adored them and took immense pride in being their doting grandfather. His love for them was boundless, and he cherished every moment shared.

Along with his parents, Roland and Doris Eloise Bonds Clark, he is preceded in death by his wife, Terri Lynn Waller Clark and one brother, Shelby Clark.

He leaves behind his son, Scott Clark (Kristi) of Hamburg, AR; and one daughter, Ashley Clark Snyder of Crossett, AR; along with one brother, Ricky Clark (Jennie) of Bella Vista, AR; five grandchildren, Taelor Clark, Carson Clark, Evan Lee, Liberty Snyder, and Brooklyn Snyder; and one great-grandchild, Cashton Kyle Kidwell.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 3rd, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett, with Bro. Danny Merriweather, officiating, followed by internment at Hughes Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Taelor Clark, Riley Craig, Bruce Blankenship, Pete Murphy, Freddie Guin and Kenneth Stark. Honorary pallbearers are Andy Lloyd, Thomas Glen Childers and Ronnie Murphy.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 2nd, at Medders Funeral Home.
